Islam gives great importance to the rights of a wife and commands the husband to treat her with kindness, respect, and fairness. One of her primary rights is financial support. The husband is responsible for providing food, clothing, and shelter according to his ability.
A wife also has the right to emotional care and gentle treatment. The Prophet (peace be upon him) emphasized kindness toward النساء and warned against harsh behavior. Respect, love, and patience are essential in fulfilling this right.
She also has the right to security and protection—both physically and emotionally. A husband must create a safe and peaceful environment for her.
Another important right is dignity. A wife should never be humiliated, insulted, or treated unfairly. Islam promotes mutual respect and honor in marriage.
